2 Hours Without Radiation

"2 hours without radiation" as i would quote my sir's saying, Nikhil sir. On October 17th i went to a sub center which located at Shivapur, an hour journey from my college. It's a health center which serve for a population of less than 1000.

Situated within it's own perimeter surrounding by hills area i can guarantee you wouldn't find any signals there whether aircel, vodafone, tata docomo, or even airtel! Just switch off your phone would be better. It save your battery.

At first i was surprised as the sub center was locked. I thought it's because there is no patient. But i was told it is because of the man power (which means the doctors) are not present. Government of India provides the building and private sector provides the man power. Partnership in health delivery system.

We arrived at the village around 11.15 am and the day was getting hot. But it's not stopping me from wanted to explore the place. There were me and my three colleagues, Nikhil sir, Akshata mam, chacha uncle the driver and Chanappa. We supposed to provide check up and treatment if there is any patient come.

The sub center
My three colleagues climbed down from our mobile dental van and sat in front of the sub center. There is a house in front of it which the owner has a puppy. So they played with the puppy. NIkhil sir came down too. We talked a little bit. I asked about the village. What the people do for their living etc etc. Then it blurt out from my mouth that i wanted to take a look at the place. The journey then began....

They say picture speaks thousand words. Let's take a peek at those.

A lady was drying jowar
The first thing that i saw near the house was this, jowar. Jowar is from the family of pulses. They dry it, grind and finally they made it into flour so it can be prepare to make food.

Nikhil sir with drying ground nuts
Nikhil sir showed me the place. The villagers grow crops to earn money. They grow jowar, ground nuts, corns, chillies, corriander and curry leaves, vegetables and so on. Most of them do not have car but they do have motorcyles as their mean of transportation.

This is one of the tanks that available in the village
The villagers get their supply of water from nearby river. It is tunneled into the water tanks. According to Nikhil sir it is ration around four hours per day. During that time all the villagers will line up with all their pots to replenish their water supply.

The kindergarten in the village

Children were having their lunch
There is a school nearby the village too. As it was holiday so no one was there when we went there.

The view of the school
I found a cow shed too. This cow shed can provide shelter to 2 or 3 cows at a time. Some of them keep a larger cow shed for the oxen. The villagers keep the cows for the milk and oxen to work in the field. For Hindus they honour cows as for them the cows provide them milk and also purify the soul of the deaths. That is the reason underlying why they put the cow dungs on the walls of their houses. It is said that it helps of the latter and also to achieve nirvana.

The journey took me almost an hour to walk around the village. It was tiring but at the same time i enjoyed the knowledge i gained. It is a peaceful place with no such tension and pressure of living. People just work to earn little money for the sake of living and surviving. Male in the field while female at home doing house chores. Everyday the same routine without tired. They happy with their lives despite an erratic supply of electric and water.

The happy face of children
In the end of the day what most that makes their lives is that they feel happy, satisfied and grateful with what they have. No pressure to keep moving forward or tension of urban lifestyle. Nevertheless we as a health care provider should not abundant these people and deny their right for health care. And as for us we too need to be so much grateful with what we have in our life. There are so many things that we enjoyed still these people never get to.....

Menulis...berita terbaru?

Assalamualaikum...

ok cukup.

erm ape pun sume tu dah berlalu amik yg baik dan buang yg buruk la... ok la biarlah gamba yg berkate2 yer ina malas nak cakap bnyk sebenarnye..

p/s1 : kepada cik liyana subri aku tak taw la nak match kan tudung siti tu ngan baju mane, lagi satu kang pakai kang jadi siti nur amalina plak kang hehe tgk la camne kalo dah jumpe care aku pakai la heheh XD

p/s2 : lega everything back to normal selesai satu perkare di sane :)

p/s3 : insyaAllah rajen lagi sy tulis la lg blog ni hehe :P salam semua :))

Go for GOA!

Assalamualaikum...

Kali ni ina nak bercerita pasal trip ina k goa, tempat percutian yg paling dekat dgn belgaum ni. erm ina pergi pade 11.04 dan pulang pade 13.04. pade ina percutian ini tidak lah selicin mane perjalanannye tapi bole la~.

Goa adelah sebuah kawasan peranginan di tepi pantai dan adelah sebuah wilayah autonomi (sebab tu la walau dalam india juga tapi tetap dikire roaming). almaklum la kalau dah namenye tepi pantai taw2 la macam mane org2nye. lagi pun kawasan ni majoriti beragama kristian. nak makan pun kene pilih2 sket.

lagi satu time kami pergi tu time easter mmg sambutan org kristian so mmg penuh la dgn foreigner dan penuh juga la hotel2 susah juga nak dapat bilik. itu lah siape suro tak booking awal2 =P
erm ape pun kalau nak main air kat sini kat laut arab mmg murah kalau nak dibanding kan dgn kat m'sia (rase murah sebab duit rupee bukan duit kite heheh)
dalam perjalanan ke Goa
kami bertolak dalam pukul 430 ptg dan tibe dalm pukul 830 mlm. kemudian nak cari hotel agak sukar sebab kebanyakannye dah penuh. akhirnye kami ambil bilik dgn bayaran yg agak mahal. tapi tak pela. pade waktu ini goa sangat panas 32 degree. tapi mmg seriously panas. bile keluar jer dari bilik pasti berpeluh.
esoknye kami pergi main air pencil boat (k banana boat??), bumper n sudah tentu lah shopping spree!!!
di tepi pantai baga beach tak suke tgk muke sendiri pucat semacam huhu~
oh yer sebenarnye goa terbahagi kepade utara dan selatan, pantai yg kami pegi ni ina tak sure utara atau selatan mungkin kat tgh2 kot~. yg kami pegi ni baga beach dan sebelah baga beah terletaknye calangute beach. due pantai ini la yg dikate kan best tuk bermain air.
jom menelusuri pantai...

selepas bermain ombak sekejap di laut arab

hai sylvina ni suke benor peluk sy ek..

jom menuju k pencil boat kite

bahiya ikat elok2 yer jgn bagi sy tenggelam dalam laut

plak (dah lah sy tak pandai berenang)

see d pencil boat (i've told u already)

ina tak pernah naik boat ni. cuak juga la dgr cerite azie macam mane care main die. so untuk mengelakkan daripade dilempar ke dalam air ina terjun dulu dalam air sebelum org yg bawa tu jatuhkan kami huhu. pandai2 la timing kan.. telan juga la air laut tu sket. hmm pastu naik plak bumper partner dgn fezi. wah sakit tengkuk sy naik mende ni nak buka mate pun tak bole sebab air laut duk menerjah2 k muke. nasib baik tak dicampak k dalam air.

taubat la tak nak naik dah bumper ni. cukup la sekali seumur hidup sy. tapi satu perkare la ina nak naik parachute. but then takde partner. yg chinese mmg tak nak main air sebab mereka percaye bulan ni mengikut kelendar lunar bulan hantu keluar. entah la ina tak faham sgt. so ina tak naik la. tak pe la mungkin lain kali insyaAllah bile ade rezki. mane taw dapat naik dgn org tersayang k... heheh

sempat lagi melambai sebelum dibawa k tengah laut

shopping time!!!

di lobi hotel linda goa before nak pegi dinner

dinner di tepi pantai

calangute beach

minum2 dulu hilangkan dahaga dekat shack

time for lunch! mai lunch makan seafood

muke tak sabar nak makan (apela nak jadi ngan anak dare ni~)

aguada fortress. panasnye la

berlatar belakangkan kuala

bakal model2 mase hadapan??

selepas makan tgh hari pade hari terakhir nak pulang kami singgah sebentar di aguada fortress, sebuah kubu peninggalan portugis. pemandangan dari kubu ni sangat lah cantik =)

kami bertolak pulang dan pemandu menghentikan kami di satu tempat di atas bukit bukau. sebenarnye kami pun tak tahu tempat ape tu tapi cantik pemandangan die berangin dan sejuk lg. jalan untuk k goa ni melalui kawasan tepi bukit umpama jalan untuk pergi k cameron highland bengkang bengkok seperti ular kene palu. mujur la perjalanan hanya mengambil mase 3-4 jam so i still can bear it. cume macam biase la kalau perjalanan sebegini ina takkan boleh tidur punye la.

setibenye kami di hostel dalam 830 malam. penat mmg penat. name pun berjalan. seperti biase kalau dah main air kulit pun hitam sket la. dan yg pasti pimple pun naik! erm sy membuat hipotesis ini mesti disebabkan makan bnyk seafood. betul k? entah la. akhirnye setelah hampir setahun bertapak di bumi india ni baru la kami keluar dari belgaum ni melihat dunia luar.

ok pen off now. cukup sampai di sini dulu tinta penulisan ina.

tak lame dah nak preliminary exam cuaknye. bace buku malas. (rajen2 AMALINA!!!) doakan sy lulus first year BDS ye semua mekacih :)
